With the State Government’s directives on hygiene and social distancing in place, please note the following policies that will accompany the reopening of the studio. We spent the last 8 months adapting. Adapting to change. Adapting to uncertainty. Adapting to a new world. This means our community gets to be together sooner, safer and in an indescribably awesome way. With the sound of nature and the city coming together. 

Welcome to our all-weather, open-air yoga studio.

Please note all the booking, cancellation, and Covid Safety conditions below apply!

Bookings open 24hrs in advance (spots are super limited so bookings are essential!)

Cost: $19 per class (unless you have an EXISTING I Am That – Yoga Studio membership (you would have received an SMS, if not please get in touch 🙂 )

To accommodate as many people as possible with the current restriction, class bookings only open 4 days in advance, from Nov 9, 2020.

If you are an existing I Am That – Yoga STUDIO member: your membership continues AS WAS. You will have received communications from us (SMS or Email) with details to your specific membership. If you have not received that information click here to contact us

To accommodate all our members despite the 10-person-restriction, we will more than double the number of classes we are offering each week, once we reopen on November 9th.

FROM NOVEMBER 9th, WE WILL BE OFFERING CLOSE TO 50 CLASSES PER WEEK, OVER 2 LARGE STUDIOS, AS WELL AS OUR OPEN AIR ROOFTOP, TO ACCOMMODATE DEMAND. THIS SCHEDULE WILL BE ADAPTED CONTINUOUSLY TO MATCH THE EASING OF RESTRICTIONS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF OUR STUDENTS.

Many classes will also be streamed online.

Your favourite teachers are now teaching more classes.

Classes will have staggered start times so as not to overcrowd reception.

Some will be live-streamed too, which means sometimes, you will be practising in the filming studio and sometimes you won’t. This enables us to keep streaming our classes to our online members, while at the same time, increasing the number of classes we offer at the studio. The more people that can practice with us, the more classes we can offer.

If you are practising in the filming studio, the only thing that changes is that the teacher spends most of the time at the front of the studio and will have cameras and lights pointed at them (not you 😉 )

To keep our community safe, we are implementing the following hygiene protocols to avoid the spread of germs and reduce the risk of infection. These strict regulations will interfere with the comfort and ease of the studio but we will try our very best to keep the vibe as warm and welcoming as it was before. Please bear with us as we adjust and learn to streamline these processes at the start:

  • Please wear a mask at all times, UNLESS YOU ARE ON YOUR MAT
  • Please BRING YOUR OWN MATS AND PROPS
  • According to State regulation, the use of showers and changing rooms will not be permitted
  • Toilets are available upstairs and maintained to the highest sanitary standards but if you can, please avoid using these wherever possible
  • Communal sitting areas will not be accessible
  • Communal water taps and tea will not be available. Please bring your own drink bottle. Sealed drinks can be purchased at reception
  • From November 9th lockers will be available and will be cleaned regularly but please minimise any personal items you bring to the studio
  • Hand sanitiser will be made available in all areas. Please use upon arrival and when entering and leaving the studio and rooftop
  • Props and rental mats will NOT be available
  • If you are storing your mat at the studio, please use the provided sanitisers to clean it before placing it on the shelf
  • Staff have been advised that anyone displaying flu-like symptoms will be asked to leave. If you are not feeling well, please stay at home!
  • Studios and highly-frequented surfaces will be disinfected between every class, please be patient and wait outside as we do this
  • Please leave your shoes on the rack near the entrance
  • Teachers will be modifying their classes as follows:
    • Not walking around the room but remaining at the front
    • No rigorous pranayama practices
    • No hands-on assists or contact of any kind
  • Air purifiers will be placed in both indoor studios
  • Ventilation and windows will be opened as much as possible
  • Studio temperature will be kept at a constant 23ºC (no hot yoga for the time being)
  • Teachers and staff will have completed the COVID19 online training for workplaces procedures

Please read through the above before coming to the studio for the first time, to avoid any surprises or disappointments. We are INCREDIBLY lucky to have 2 large studios to accommodate the government-specified, 8sqm-per-student density quotient, allowing us to welcome the maximum number of students allowed per indoor class from November 9th: 10 per space.

Our Open Air Rooftop Studio can accommodate 8 students with the specified outdoor density quotient.

Physical distancing will be facilitated with the following measures:

  • Class times will be staggered to minimise the traffic at reception, locker areas and bathrooms
  • The studio will only be accessible 10 minutes before class time. If you arrive before then, please wait outside (rug up when it is cold!)
  • Please leave the studio as quickly as possible after class ends, to avoid a traffic jam with other students. This point hurts us a lot. One of the things the new studio layout was meant to provide, was an environment to hang and connect with you 🙁 )
  • Class numbers are limited to 10 students
  • Mat spots will be clearly marked on the ground with tape to make it as easy as possible to set up your mat
  • Please do not bring any personal belongings (apart from props, sweaters and drink bottles) into the studio (lockers will be available from Nov 9th)
  • Please avoid any physical contact with other students, with teachers and with the rest of the team
  • The studio pooches (Maja and Ella) will be in a sectioned off area for cuddles. If you would like a cuddle, please sanitise before and after you do.
  • If you would like to chat to us about something (we would LOVE that but just might need to finish cleaning first) please let us know and you can wait in the common area upstairs and we will come up the minute everything is sanitised and ready for the next class.
  • Probably the biggest pain point for us: we will need to keep the socialising at reception to a minimum. This will be so hard for us –  we MISS hanging with you all! If we do come across as a little short or rushed, please know that we would love nothing more than to keep chatting with you guys – but we are currently not really supposed to. Making everyone feel welcomed and safe is our number 1 priority. If through all of this, we ever do something that is contrary to that, please point it out to us (respectfully and constructively). We are all learning to navigate these new circumstances as best we can.

As per the “Memberships” section, until the strict restrictions on numbers of people in each class are lifted, we will have to implement a few booking procedures and limitations in order to minimise any disappointment at not being able to attend a class. Nonetheless, we are aware that the size of our community cannot nearly be matched with the 10-people-per-class limitation. We have added a large number of classes to the schedule to make up for this limitation and are committed to continuously adapting the schedule to real demand. In the first few weeks, we will see which timeslots will need more classes and which less.

STAY UPDATED ON ALL THE CHANGES:

We have no indication as to when restrictions will ease further, so we will be re-evaluating our policies, procedures and schedule on an ongoing basis. Please note the current booking procedures and policies:

  • If you are an existing member, you should have received an email/SMS with details about your specific booking procedures. If you have not please CONTACT US
  • All classes have to be booked prior to arriving. Please note we cannot currently accept Walk-Ins
  • Bookings to classes open 24hrs in advance only
  • Some time slots will be very popular and others less popular. In the first few days this will become quite obvious. The more flexible you are the more likely you are to get a spot. Weekdays 530pm and weekend mornings are the most popular spots.
  • Doors open 10 minutes before class
  • Classes have to start on time to accommodate time for cleaning
  • At this point we are not limiting the number of classes people can book as we are hoping that our increased number of classes available will help even things out. Should we need to adjust this policy, we will. Please use your own judgement as to how you can help make access to the classes as fair as possible
  • Cancellations occurring less than 2 hours before the start of afternoon classes will be charged at $13 with no exceptions (see below our cancellation policy).
  • Cancellations occurring less than 12 hours before the start of morning classes (noon or earlier) will be charged at $13 with no exceptions (see below our cancellation policy).

The strict limitations on the number of people per class mean that a lot of people will miss out. In order to minimise this and to encourage all members of the community to consider this when you plan your yoga schedule, we are implementing very strict (and unprecedented) cancellation policies. Please note that fairness and accessibility is super important to us and so, no exceptions will be made.

  • Classes cancelled less than 2 hours before the scheduled time for afternoon classes and 12 hours for morning classes (12pm or earlier), will be considered late cancels, charged at the full rate (non-refundable) for casual passes, or at the rate specified in your membership agreement.
  • No-shows will be charged as late cancels
  • To allow for enough time to sanitise spaces in between classes and to avoid increasing traffic at reception we have to start the classes on time. Our schedule is timed to maximise class time and minimise bottlenecks. For this reason:
    • Please note that access to classes cannot be granted after the class has started at the scheduled time
    • If the entrance is open but you arrive late, please do not walk into the class unnoticed – there are procedures in place that need to be followed to keep everyone safe. If there is no one at reception (we might be prepping or cleaning elsewhere) please do not enter the class
    • If you arrive late and miss class but have booked you will be charged the late cancel fee detailed above
    • Your spot will be given to the next person just before we start the class
    • Due to the limited spots available, we are not currently able to provide a credit or move your booking to another class if you have arrived late
    • Please understand that no exceptions can be made as a no show most definitely meant that someone else missed out

With a little bit of extra planning and consideration, everyone has a fair go at getting a spot in class. We are aware that things do happen and we are all human and sometimes we just cannot help being late, or not making it to a class. While we would usually try to accommodate everyone and make a plan, we just don’t currently have the space to do that, which is why the above measures are necessary.

I Am That – Yoga’s mission has always and will always be to make Yoga accessible. From the 9th of November 2020, we will be offered tiered pricing and memberships, to allow the community to come together and make Yoga more accessible to more people despite the huge impact of COVID19 on all of us.

PAYMENT

To streamline the booking process, the easiest thing would be to have your payment details up to date on your MibndBody Account. This also minimises the amount of contact you have with staff and reduces your exposure.

  • Where possible, we highly recommend adding your payment details to your I Am That – Yoga account (either via our schedule or via our I Am That – Yoga App so that you can walk in and just tell us to charge you
    • Please note that this is NOT possible if you are booking via Mindbody. We recommend registering on our native app:

  • According to state recommendations, and to minimise exposure for our team we currently do not accept cash. Contactless payment forms only, please.

Our Online Yoga and Live Streaming Platform is now a permanent feature at I Am That – Yoga! To make Yoga even more accessible, you will continue to have:

  • Daily live-streamed classes
  • 100s of pre-recorded classes, practices, tutorials and kids yoga classes available on demand

Our all-access online subscription costs only $13 per week or $35 per month and if you have an I Am That – Yoga studio membership, it is included at no extra cost!

 ONLINE YOGA

Please note that for the time being, some of our in-studio classes will be live-streamed at the same time. This means that there will be a filming setup directed at the (only) the teacher. Students will NOT be in the livestream.

Our weekly schedule denotes which classes will be filmed. Should you not want to practice in a class that is also being filmed you can choose to avoid those.

The safety of all I Am That – Yoga teachers and staff is of utmost importance to us. Please note the following procedures to minimise exposure to our team:

  • If you are not feeling well please stay home
  • Anybody displaying any symptoms will not be allowed to attend the class
  • Please wear a mask unless you are on your mat
  • No hands-on assists in classes are allowed at this time
  • Please refrain from any physical contact with anyone at the studio. There is so much love we can share without touching!
  • Please use the provided sanitisers as much as possible
  • Please wash your hands thoroughly whenever you head to our bathrooms
  • All services will be sanitised regularly and in between every class
  • There will be a physical barrier at reception to ensure 1.5m distance when you arrive
  • Physical distancing markers will be visible everywhere
  • Hygiene and distancing measures will be implemented and enforced by management without exceptions
  • Teachers will be practising on their own mats

To minimise exposure, we have been advised to remove all props and communal equipment from the studio. As such, you will need to bring your own:

  • Mats
  • Bolsters
  • Straps
  • Bocks
  • Blankets
  • Eye Pillows

Please note that we will have all of these available for purchase at the studio. If you need to purchase something, please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before class or call us to arrange a different pickup time.

2ND HAND PROPS

Yoga Props are expensive. To help support our community we will also be selling off our studio props at a discounted price. All of these props are in great condition, and have been stashed away for 3 months and are safe and in good condition, however, please ensure you thoroughly clean or wash the props before using:

  • Bolsters: $55
  • Cork Blocks: $13.90
  • Cotton Straps: $5
  • Organic-Cotton Blanket Blanket: $32
  • Display Luxury Cork Alignment Mats (Used only for demo or display, slightly marked and out of packaging): $70

PROP STORAGE

While we have shelves available for mat storage, we ask that you take your mat home with you wherever you can. If you do keep it at the studio, please ensure you sanitise it with the provided sanitiser before AND after using.

We currently have no prop storage available but are working on a solution if this restriction persists.
